Apple, Inc. has done it. News agencies are sending word over the wires that Apple's iTunes store has surpassed Wal*Mart as the largest retailer of music in the marketplace. I'm totally baffled by this news, but they must be doing something right.
In other music news, MySpace is teaming up with several music companies to offer music. In my humble opinion, MySpace has always been a terrific outlet for creative users, and I think they will do well with their music sales.
Only somewhat related is the news that broke today about Google's CIO leaving to join EMI. Frankly I'm quite surprised by the move, but it may be happening for a variety of reasons.
