I guess you would consider Sage Francis a rapper, but he is about as far from your traditional rapper as you can get. I'd almost consider him more of spoken word poet. His raps are are packed with symbolism and metaphors. His songs definitely take a couple listens in order to get the gist of what he is talking about. Even then its hard to decipher his songs.
Got Up This Mornin' is off of his most recent cd, The Human Death Dance. It's got a cool rap/blues fusion sound to it. I'm still trying to figure out what the song is about, but it's definitely a catchy tune. I've been a fan of Sage and his unique take on hip hop for a while now.
