It’s been a good 5 years since Encore, and Eminem has finally dropped another LP. It couldn’t come soon enough, I don’t think I can take another Lil Wayne or Rick Ross verse.
How does it stack up, well if you want to compare him to the rest of the competition he wins by a landslide with a few exceptions. I don’t think anyone in the mainstream even comes close, Jay-Z and Nas aside. His amazing flow and clever lyrics. It’s like everyones stuck in rapper’s delight, while Em’s on some Eric B. & Rakim.
As far as comparing it to his other LPs it’s not quite on par with The Marshall Mathers LP, which was a masterpiece in my humble opinion. I’d say its better than Encore and as good as The Eminem Show.
If you never liked Eminem before then this sure as hell won’t change your mind. He’s still out to offend everybody and their mother. For those who are already avid fans, I’m happy to report that Slim Shady is back in the building.
