Mashup Dj’s have become increasingly popular in recent years with artists like Girl Talk, Milkman, and others paving the way. These guys basically take music samples from different genres and blend them together to make a new piece of music that flows together seamlessly. It’s not nearly as easy as it sounds, you cant just take any vocals, instruments, samples or whateverhave you and throw them together. It takes a trained ear to distinguish what will work together and what won’t and how to transition from one piece of music to another. They seem to use a lot of rap, dance, and rock in their music and somehow manage to make it all sound completely organic.
