Cunninlynguists Concert

Last night I went to the Cunninlynguists show at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston.  First off I wanna say that if you are truly into a band or artist, your owe it to yourself to catch them at a small club venue.  The tickets are all fifteen bucks and its impossible not to get a good seat.  We were sitting up in the balcony like twenty five feet from the stage.  There really aren’t designated seats so to speak.  People were pretty much just free roaming and stuff.

If you’re more in the mood to tailgate/party and chat with people then you would probably have a better time at a bigger venue like Fenway, Gillette, or the Comcast Center.  However, the tickets are going to be a lot more expensive and good luck getting anywhere near the stage.

But anyways onto the show.  I thought it was just going to be The Cunninlynguists but it was actually a full fledged tour with two other acts.  The Cunninlynguists were the headliners but the others acts had plenty of stage time and they were awesome as well.  You had the Looptroop Rockers coming all the way from Sweden, and then you had Grieves from Brooklyn.  Looptroop and Grieves didn’t much look like rappers, but once they started rhyming they had my attention.  They definitely had the talent and energy to share the stage with The Cunninlynguists.

Once The Cunninlynguists hit the stage the crowd was going crazy and the energy was through the roof.  They had great stage presence and energy which they maintained until the end.  They rapped as good as you could hope for.  They’re just as dope sounding and lyrically sick live as they are on wax.  They didn’t get a chance to perform a few of my personal favorites that I was hoping they would but thats understandable.  They would have been their all night if they went through their entire song catalog.

The coolest part was how they waited in the lobby and greeted the fans as we were walking out.  He thanked everybody and I even got to shake Kno’s hand. Cool stuff.  For the uninitiated Kno is the white rapper in the group, he also produces all the beats.  So yeah, I’ll leave you with a great song of theirs.  This is vintage Cunninlynguists.
