It’s tough keeping up with underground rap and its constantly expanding roster of impressive emcees. Unfortunately there is far too much quality music out there too keep up with. I usually hear about new stuff that is promoted by labels and artists I already listen to as well as recommendations from friends.
I heard a rapper who goes by the name of Viro The Virus recently on a cd by The Snowgoons. The Snowgoons are trio of music producers from German and are signed to Babygrande records. Babygrand is like the Def Jam of Independent Rap. They feature all sorts of quality artists ranging from Wu-Tang members to underground giants like Jedi Mind Tricks and Army of The Pharoahs.
Viro is a gifted lyricist and really compliments the hard hitting beats from the supremely talented Snowgoons. He’s definitely a welcome addition to the already impressive list of rappers found on a typical Snowgoons release.
